Guides by Lonely Planet App Reviews
Origins and Ownership
The Guides by Lonely Planet app is a traveller’s resource before and during their trip, offering valuable information in and about any place in the form of useful city guides. It is brought to you by the leading provider of travel content online, Lonely Planet. The app has offline maps, audio phrasebooks, a currency converter, and advice from on-the-ground experts. The Guides app’s travel experts or writers curate insider information on the best things to do and where to stay, dine, and more in different world destinations giving app users the invaluable resource behind Lonely Planet.
The Guides app reviews give us another perspective on the famous travel service. Ranging in opinion from neutral to suggestive, the Guides app reviews online share different views about the Guides app:
Services and Features
The Guides app features the same layout and design as the official website, as noticed by some Guides app reviews. Users can skim through the best hotel or restaurant choices so they won’t have to spend long hours weeding out the best services from a long list – the Guides app writers present the top options worth visiting in each city. Aside from places to visit, you can access more than 10,000 phrases for 19 different languages, including Spanish, French, Japanese, or Chinese. The current version features information about more than 100 cities, including Amsterdam, Barcelona, London, Paris, Rome, New York, Tokyo, and Bangkok. With extensive coverage on random cities, however, comes the Guides app’s inadequate and unhelpful information.
Using the Guides app is available offline, including its maps. You can download the Guides app from Google Play and the App Store here in this link from their official website.
Reviews of Customers
Not all the Guides app reviews were favourable. Here is what one of the most recent Guides app reviews said about the Guides app: “Such a shame, all this app did was crash and freeze, I was hardly able to read the content. If the bugs were sorted this would be quite useful.
For a supposed guides or guide to famous world destinations, the Guides app had limited coverage according to some Guides app reviews writers. One of the Guides app reviews shared finding no information on Japanese cities other than Kyoto and Tokyo; he recommended that the app add more cities to their list other than the major ones. Meanwhile, other Guides app reviews share that it “doesn’t work,” crashes, is not functional, and doesn’t bring out the needed information.

Not that Good a Guide
Lonely Planet’s Guides app needs more work. According to Guides app reviews and their history, Lonely Planet had spent more than 40 years in the travel industry, creating the most “inspiring” and reliable travel guides, yet their recently updated Guides app should show their travel expertise instead of relaying incomplete city guides.
