Lao Airlines is the national airline of the Southeast Asian country Laos. It has its headquarters in Vientiane, Laos where its main operating base and hub is at the Wattay International Airport. Luang Prabang International Airport, on the other hand, is a focus city. Laos’ national airline flies a number of domestic and international flights servicing the region and beyond, since its foundation in 1976.

Origins of the Airline
As of the most recent Lao Airlines reviews, the airline flies to Cambodia, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, and Korea as well as domestically in Laos. As of the most recent counts, Lao Airlines’ fleet of 11 aircraft is composed of 4 Airbus A320-200, 4 ATR 72-500, and 3 ATR 72-600.
The airline traces it roots back to September 1976 with the successful merging of Royal Air Lao and Lao Air Lines to form the Civil Aviation Company. In 1979, this became known as Lao Aviation. China Yunnan Airlines and the Lao government joined forces to re-nationalise Lao Aviation in 2000, whereas in 2003, the national airline was rebranded as Lao Airlines.

What its Customers Think
On reviews website Airlinequality, Lao Airlines reviews rated the airline with 8/10, as people expressed their overall satisfaction with the service. Some say they were pleasantly surprised while others call Lao Airlines a “very nice little airline.” In the latter Lao Airlines reviews, he actually quoted, “Lao Airlines is a very nice little airline. Check in was friendly and quick for both flights, and boarding was efficient. The crew were gracious and served a snack and drink on each leg (two of the three legs were less than an hour). The seats were comfortable for a regional hop. The planes operated on time.”

Their official website is easy to browse since it’s mostly on a single-page format and features a relaxing dark blue colour scheme and graphics of their flower and logo and some Laos destinations.

Lao Airlines’ services are excellent so far for their status as Laos’ national airline. I would recommend that you use the country’s main airline if you plan on visiting Laos so that you can experience authentic Laos hospitality that manages to fulfill most Lao Airlines reviews.
